Venice-post 9

Here on last leg of the trip, we go to the sinking city of Venice. Yes the home of Vivaldi, the place of the gondola, and yes the city that looks like a fish from a bird's eye view. In this city of many things to do, we went up the St. Marks Bell tower and got a great view of the city. Next, we went to the Doge's palace. Venice was once a city state, and this is where the Doge- the Venetian ruler, lived. With another tour we learned of how it had burnt down and been rebuilt, and of the prison right below where the Doge slept. Next we went to a Concerto of Vivaldi's the Four Seasons. It was a beautiful piece of music and I hope to hear more in my trips to come. Another thing we did was go up and down the Grand Canal on a vaporetto and walked around near the Ponte Rialto, the largest bridge on the Grand Canal. When our time came to go to the airport, my eyes grew misty with tears as we watched Venice grow further away.
